It has since 1st of July 2021, been significantly easier for drivers with electric cars to charge their car in public spaces, because operators, which cover 96% of the charging market, opened up their charging networks to each other and gave electric drivers the opportunity to ‘roam’ at almost all public charging stations. The news was published by the Danish E-mobility industry association in a press release on 1 July 2021. ECdrive has now become part of the industry association and therefore gives all electric drivers the opportunity to use ECdrive as a provider and roam when they need to charge their electric car. Roaming therefore covers being able to use other providers’ charging pads to charge your electric car.
Studies show that the charging of electric cars is a barrier for many who are considering switching from petrol or diesel to an electric car. It is crucial that it is both simpel and easy for electric drivers to charge their electric car – regardless of the charging network and charging operator. Therefore, as a charging operator, it is ideal to be part of the Danish E-mobility Industry Association.
